The most advanced engine fitted by BMW into a production vehicle has set bench marks with both the level of performance from a normally aspirated engine and complexity of engine and gearbox management control.

DMS provide an upgrade to the management system that takes power to 409kw BHP, torque to 557nm and 200 mph top speed capabilities. The upgraded software was completed after hundreds of hours of design and testing on its own development M5.

Power can be further increased by permitting the V10 engine to breath more easily yet retaining the stringent emission controls of the standard car. The DMS solution is a specially developed exhaust system which includes manifolds (headers), high flow catalytic converters and a bespoke silencer system. This combination releases power and improves acoustics whilst retaining in car refinement.
